Study Description: The Health and Retirement Study (HRS) is one of the largest studies of adults conducted in the United States. The HRS is currently composed of approximately 22,000 respondents and is planned to be a long-term longitudinal project. The study is designed to provide academic researchers, policy analysts and program managers with reliable, current data on the economic and physical well-being of men and women 50 years of age and older in America. In addition, it was intended to furnish insight into how, over time, health and wealth interact with work, retirement, and family responsibilities to affect the decisions that these men and women make.
Training: October 1st - October 9th, 2010
Production Period: October 2010 through March 2011
Staffing: Interviewers in various locations.

Necessary qualifications include: • Attendance at the in-person training from October 1st - 9th 2010 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. • Flexible schedule to work 25-30 hours per week during the day, evenings and weekends. • Ability to conduct standardized physical and biomarker measurements. • Carry approximately 20 pounds of equipment including a laptop and physical measures bag. • Availability to perform face-to-face interviewing in a variety of neighborhoods and be familiar with sample areas. • Ability to perform administrative tasks including attending regular conference calls, updating information using a laptop computer, submitting hours and expenses in a timely manner and reconciling travel advances. • Good teamwork skills and a willingness to continually improve performance.
Desired qualifications include: • Spanish language skills. • Ability to travel 9+ nights consecutively during a one-month period.
Interviewers should: • Foster an environment of teamwork and overall team success. • Model professional behavior and adherence to Survey Research Center (SRC) standards. • Be responsible for providing input to the Production Manager.
